The Franklin-Simpson Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on April 25, 2024 at 5:00pm in the FSHS Commons. It is a highly anticipated event that celebrates the outstanding achievements and contributions of individuals who have made a significant impact within their community. Doors will open at 5:00 pm, with the induction ceremony beginning at 5:30 pm in the Commons Area adjacent to the new FSHS gymnasium. This prestigious ceremony not only honors those who have excelled in their respective fields but also serves as an inspiration to current and future generations. The Hall of Fame induction represents a culmination of hard work, dedication, and excellence, highlighting the best that Franklin-Simpson has to offer.
The Franklin-Simpson Hall of Fame 2024 Inductees:
Alice Bailey- She was a 1957 graduate of Lincoln High School, 1961 graduate of Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics, Masters degree from WKU and Rank 1 in Administration. She was a teacher and Principal at Prospect Hill in Simpson Co. She is a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club, Barren River Mental Health Board, Literacy Council, Simpson Co. Retired Teachers, Simpson County Education Association, Simpson Co. Historical Society and currently the president of the African American Heritage Center.
Jason Mayeur Ph.D.- He is a 1996 graduate of FSHS, 2000 graduate of the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. He was an assistant professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Alabama Huntsville. He has been a staff scientist at the prestigious Los Alamos National Laboratory. Currently, Jason is working at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory as a Senior Research Scientist in the manufacturing sciences division.
Dr. Keith McCutchen- He is a 1982 graduate of FSHS. He received his D.M.A. from Indiana University, his M.M. from the University of MInnesota and his B.M.E. from the University of Kentucky. Currently, Keith is an Associate Professor of Music at Kentucky State University. He teaches Jazz Ensemble, Music Theory and History, Composition and Piano. He has completed 2 national tours with stops in Washington D.C. and New York. He has had compositions performed at the World Choir Games in Seoul, South Korea and many other musical arrangements performed throughout the United States and world.
Clark Pearson- He is a 1990 graduate of FSHS. He is a 1995 graduate of the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and 1997 graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a Masters degree in Human Relations. Clark started his athletic training at FSHS with the football team. He has served as the Head Athletic trainer for football at the University of Wisconsin. He was the Head Athletic trainer for the University of Auburn National Championship football team in 2009. He is currently serving as the Head Athletic Trainer for the University of Auburn men’s basketball team. Clark has been the trainer for many college athletes as well ones that have gone on to compete in the NFL and NBA.
Dr. Martha Sales, Ed.D.- She is a 1987 graduate of FSHS. Dr. Sales received her Bachelor of Science in Social Work with a minor in African American Studies from Western Kentucky University. She has since earned a Master of Arts in Counseling in Marriage and Family, and Educational Specialist degree in Student Affairs, and Women Studies graduate certificate as well as a doctorate in Educational Leadership from WKU. She currently serves as the Executive Director of WKU’s Intercultural Student Engagement Center and TRIO programs, Dean of Students, Interim Vice President of Student Experience. Outside of WKU she is a musician, youth/young adult advisor, Sunday school teacher and member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
