Reopening Document

Simpson Co. Schools have continued to monitor local data as it pertains to the COVID-19 pandemic since March of 2020. Our priority as a district has been the safety of our students/staff and the ability to have 5 days of in person instruction. Currently, in monitoring our data we feel that we have reached a point that we can do both and make masks optional beginning Wednesday November 10th.  As a district, we realize this is a sensitive subject and respect the decision that you and your student decide whether that be to wear or not wear a mask.

I am enclosing a copy of our reopening plan for November. Please understand that this plan has changed many times over the past 20 months to make accommodations for the current situation of COVID-19. We will continue to monitor the data and if needed to meet our priority of safety and 5 days of in person instruction the plan could change again.

Masks will still be required on school buses and vans per the federal mandate.

I want to emphasize that we will continue to social distance, sanitize, and follow the other COVID-19 mitigation strategies that we have implemented within our school district to stop the spread of this virus.

Thank you for the opportunity to educate your children and your continued support of Simpson Co. Schools. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to your students' school or the central office.

Sincerely,

Tim Schlosser- Superintendent
